PODCAST - PAGE FOR LOVERS

"There are three Greek words that describe the kind of love that expresses itself, if we allow these expressions in our lives. These three words are AGAPE (The unconditional love of God), PHILOS (Love that is found through bonding together with friends, marriages and family ties), and EROS (from which we have the word erotica, and is sexual intimacy). All three are vital expressions of love that should be demonstrated in this order. I bring them to your attention because I truly believe that a balanced life will contain within it all three expressions."

AND WHAT WAS THE REASON WHY YOU SAID WE COULDN'T?

(This dynamic excerpt is included in Love Won't Let Me Be Silent)

As the moonlight streamed through the blinds, creating a silhouette on the wall of our two bodies intertwined in our bed; as you slept soundly next to me, I wondered...

And what was the reason why you said we couldn't?

As I touched your face with gentleness and seduced you with my loving hands...

And as I massaged your body, watching the stress of the day retreat from it and the memory of past nights we spent together flood your mind over and over, again I asked...

And what was the reason why you said we couldn't?

When my lips were on your face and wrapped around your long shaft with an urgency in my body to bring you to a point of ecstasy and your release took us to a place that only true lovers can sail to, again I asked...

And what was the reason why you said we couldn't?

When we celebrated moments of passion that few will ever experience for seemingly endless nights -- which most are praying for, even begging for...again I asked...

And what was the reason why you said we couldn't?

When you said to me that you're straight and not gay, yet every moment was a battle to keep your hands off me and you resisted every attempt of mine to leave you...again I wondered and again I asked,

And what was the reason why you said we couldn't?

When you explained to me that God was not pleased with this kind of lifestyle and expression of intimacy, something in me that was asleep awakened and none of what you said made any sense to me, only prompting me to ask again, is this really a good reason that we shouldn't?

How could God be displeased with two people who love one another, support one another, pray for one another, and are so right for each other when He himself is love?

How could anyone buy into the homophobic philosophy that our unique expression of love is a sin?

So my heart rebelled, and my soul engaged in a revolution all its own as I left our love-filled room to enter another without you, asking myself over and over in my mind...

What was the reason why you said we couldn't?

When I neatly packed your clothing and took them to you and you looked at me and wondered why and what you had done wrong, I was amazed as you looked bewildered and even thought to yourself...

And what was the reason why he said we couldn't?

Now I have a question to ask you: "What excuse will we give The Creator of the Universe, The Giver of Life, The Essence of Love when He asks us to give an account for the reason that we rejected His marvelous gift of love, the pearl of great price that all of humanity longs for?

What will be our excuse for our poor stewardship of this awesome gift that He bestowed on us, something few ever receive but all crave?

Reluctantly, through eternity's eye, I foresee that we will bitterly weep at His feet, be embarrassed because of our childish behavior, with no words to justify the reason we forfeited His marvelous gift of each other -- other than an empty excuse that misguided people told us, "It was wrong!"

Imagine the look of disappointment in His eyes and the pain we will feel in our hearts when He asks us...

And what was the reason why you said you couldn't?
